New Discussion Board Launched

Submergent.org now has a discussion board to help facilitate communication.

Originally, Submergent.org allowed for various authors to post content on the front page, making Submergent.org a collaborative blog. Updates were few and far between. And, to be honest, that isn’t the best way to foster conversation.

In our second attempt at a website, we turned the site into a feed aggregator of member blogs. But that too proved troublesome. The site had functionality problems and we found that it didn’t foster dialog.

And so, we’ve added a discussion board to help facilitate conversation. Short of a full-out social networking site (I don’t know about you, but I’ve had my fill of web 2.0 social networks), this is the best way to foster discussion on submergent.org.

So, check it out here. You can subscribe to the rss feed for the forum here.

Uh Oh.

Submergent has some serious competition here.

Maybe we should have our two groups form an alliance. I mean, if they are willing to accept nonviolence, we can all wear wetsuits. Deal?

Everything Must Change Tour: May 9-10

Submergent is co-sponsoring the Goshen College leg of Brian McLaren’s Everything Must Change Tour. The tour explores these questions:

  • What does it mean, in today’s world, to be a follower of God in the way of Jesus?
  • What does it mean to be a faith community engaged in the holistic, integral mission of God in our world today?
  • How do we, as individuals and organizations, respond faithfully to the crises facing our world?
  • What is our duty to God, ourselves, our families, our neighbors, our enemies, and our planet in light of Jesus’ radical message of the kingdom of God?
  • How can we engage in personal formation and theological reformulation for global transformation?
